Principal's Message

Welcome to the Elementary Department of A’Takamul International School. ATIS is an American curriculum international school that combines western education with Kuwaiti values and traditions. We strive to educate our students on an individual basis, recognizing that every child is a unique individual with a distinct set of values, passions, experiences, and ideas.

In keeping with the school’s mission statement, we encourage our students to become lifelong learners in an increasingly global society—equipped with the skills and attitudes necessary to become successful, socially aware global citizens.

We offer your child a broad and balanced curriculum that places emphasis on the major aspects of physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. The curriculum promotes child-centered learning, and we provide a challenging, stimulating environment designed to support their growth. In the Elementary School, we follow the Common Core Standards with a strong emphasis on collaborative learning strategies applied across all subject areas.

Our mission at ATIS goes beyond academic instruction. We are equally committed to helping students understand culturally and socially acceptable norms, conflict resolution, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. ATIS students are given plenty of opportunities to discover and develop their talents through a variety of curricular and extracurricular activities. In other words, our task is to raise culturally and socially aware, open-minded, and tolerant citizens who are valuable and proactive members of society.

The Elementary Department comprises Grades 1 through 5. Boys and girls share mixed classrooms from Grades 1 to 4. In Grade 5, classes are separated by gender; however, students continue to share common areas and school facilities throughout the day.
